We are looking for our next IT Governance & Risk Manager to play a critical role in establishing and maintaining IT global controls within Wefox. This position is responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring IT governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The IT Governance Manager will work closely with Business Systems Owners to ensure adherence to these controls, helping to safeguard our information assets and ensure the reliability and security of our IT systems.

In this role you wil:

  • IT Global Controls Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive IT governance controls, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with Business Systems Owners to ensure compliance with established IT governance controls, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess IT-related risks, vulnerabilities, and threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitoring and Assessing: Regularly monitor and self-assess IT processes, controls, and systems to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT governance policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to staff and Business Systems Owners on IT governance principles and best practices.
  • Incident Response: Assist in developing and implementing incident response plans related to IT governance and security breaches.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve IT governance practices to enhance the organization's ability to manage risks effectively.
  • Define, monitor and follow up on key IT performance metrics (KPIs), providing regular updates to senior management and the board of directors.

What you bring:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar position or role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g. CISM) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT governance, risk management, or compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to IT governance and security (e.g. COBIT, ITIL or ISO27001)
  • Insurance industry related knowledge/experience is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management skills are a plus.
  • Experience using tools like OneTrust, Signavio and Jira is a plus.
