About Wayflyer

Our mission is to give the world access to the best products by empowering great brands to reach their growth potential.

Today's consumer brands need a capital provider that keeps pace with their growth ambitions. Traditional financing options are slow, cumbersome and often out of reach. That's why we built Wayflyer.

Our unique technology allows us to assess businesses in minutes, generate financing offers that reflect their growth potential and send funds in as little as 24 hours.

Since launching in April 2020, we've deployed over $4.5bn to thousands of brands worldwide, backed by Tier 1 banks like J.P. Morgan. We've become a trusted financing partner for some amazing brands, like True Classic, Little Words Project and Kekoa Foods.

Teams at Wayflyer are truly cross-functional. You'll be collaborating with ambitious colleagues from around the world - all striving to deliver on a huge opportunity. Check out this video to hear directly from them.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join Wayflyer's Legal and Compliance team. This role will be a critical component supporting internal teams, working with third parties, and providing day-to-day and strategic advice on a broad range of legal matters.

What will you do

  • Assist with Wayflyer’s global company secretarial requirements, including making statutory filings with the Irish Companies Registration Office, liaising with our external service providers to ensure we are meeting our global compliance obligations, and maintaining our internal registers and records.

  • Assist with other registrations and filings, such as regulatory and intellectual property filings.

  • Draft and review various legal documents, including board resolutions, corporate documents, non-disclosure agreements and commercial contracts.

  • Assist with the preparation of Board & Committee packs.

  • Assist with Wayflyer’s data protection obligations, including by maintaining our privacy policies, processes and registers and responding to data subject rights requests.

  • Assist with the operation of our equity incentive plan.

  • Assist with document management in debt collection litigation.

  • Carry out legal research across a number of areas, including employment, regulatory, data protection and other matters.

  • Ensure our contractual templates, playbooks, employment documents and other standard terms are kept up to date.

  • Lead document management and assisting with administrative tasks and a variety of ad hoc legal tasks for the legal team, including coordinating with internal stakeholders on the execution of legal documents.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • You have a law degree (or have passed FE1s) and have some experience as a paralegal (either in private practice or in-house).

  • You have commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.

  • You are comfortable managing large amounts of documents, as well as utilising technological solutions to make the legal team’s processes and functions more efficient.

  • You have good research skills.

  • Experience with G-Suite, DocuSign and/or Notion would be an advantage but are not required.

  • You have a proactive approach with excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team.

  • You are flexible (and can work flexible hours to suit business requirements) and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your own workload.

  • You are willing to go the extra mile and have a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude.

  • You have an ownership mentality, always seeking to improve Wayflyer's success, even in functions outside of Legal.

What is important to point out is that you can do most or all of the above mentioned and can point to your real experience doing it. You’ve probably done it at companies of different shapes, sizes and industries. Given what we do, experience in financial services, fintech and business-to-business organisations is particularly interesting to us.

On top of that, you’re amazing at prioritisation. You make sure you’re not spread too thin while also giving teams the support they need. You spend your time on the things that make a positive difference. People get why you’ve chosen to say ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘not yet’, and are ok with it.

What you’re like as a person and how you treat people is a big deal for us. People love working with you. You’re helpful and generous with your time and knowledge. People love helping you back. People know where they stand with you.

You’re always looking to learn and grow, on a personal and professional level. And you’re always looking to help others learn and grow by sharing your own knowledge and experience.

You know why diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging matters, and speak up when we can do better.
