About Wayflyer

Our mission is to give the world access to the best products by empowering great brands to reach their growth potential. Join us!

Wayflyer is revolutionising eCommerce by levelling the playing field for founders across the world. Our first product, the Merchant Cash Advance, solves a major pain point for brands: access to short-term finance to fund inventory and marketing spend. Since launching in April 2020, we’ve deployed over $3.3bn in funding to over 4,000 eCommerce founders across 11 countries.

We’ve helped companies like Wild, Dock & Bay and Branch take their businesses to the next level. Check out this video from Davie Fogherty, another one of our brilliant customers, giving a great explanation of what we do and how we helped The Oodie go from strength to strength.

We’re a fast-growing, venture-backed startup that serves a critical need for eCommerce entrepreneurs. You'll be joining an ambitious, collaborative team that's working on a huge opportunity.

We announced our Series B in February 2022 raising $150m in funding at $1.6bn valuation; backed by world-leading VCs including QED and DST Global.

Teams at Wayflyer are truly cross-functional. Regardless of your role at Wayflyer, you'll work with a variety of different disciplines and teams from around the world on a multitude of challenging projects and game-changing products to revolutionise the eCommerce landscape.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced revenue leader to shape our revenue organisation and scale revenue to the next level. This role will be responsible for the results of our Australian Geo, across BDR, Account Executive and Customer Success teams.

The role will initially involve a mixture of managing both individual contributors and some first line managers, with scope to build and develop a management group as we scale. As the most senior leader on the ground in Australia, you will also set the tone and shape the culture and community of the office as we scale our operations in the geo.

Areas of focus and priority for this role should be split as follows

  • New Business (60% of focus)

  • Customer Success (30% of focus)

  • P&L Management (10% of focus)

Strategic Leadership

  • Own and execute the strategy for revenue growth within the Australian region.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans that align with the company's overall objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and market expansion

Performance Management / Results Delivery

  • Responsible for the performance of New Business and Customer Success teams, ensuring consistency in achieving or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.

  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to address any areas of underperformance.

Revenue Excellence

  • Drive consistent performance across all sales activities, ensuring the team adheres to best practices and achieves high standards of excellence.

  • Establish robust sales processes and frameworks that enable the team to deliver outstanding results.

Market Presence

  • Elevate our brand in the region and establish our company as a thought leader in the industry.

  • Leverage personal and professional networks to build relationships that enhance our market position and open new business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with underwriting, product, partnerships, finance and marketing teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration.

Talent Development and Coaching

  • Provide direct coaching and mentoring to individual contributors within the sales and account management teams.

  • Foster a culture of continuous development and high performance.

Financial Management

  • Monitor and manage the P&L for the region, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximisation of return on investment.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • 7+ years of relevant sales leadership experience including leading BDR, AE and Account Management functions (a primary focus on new business is preferred)

  • Experience leading teams that consist of multiple levels of management.

  • Proven track record of growing revenue and achieving ambitious revenue targets, and building an efficient sales engine

  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales practices and principles with a proven track record of coaching and developing sales executives into top performers

  • Proven experience developing and executing new business and account management sales strategy

  • Inspirational leader, with an ability to set a vision, secure buy in from your team and influence their motivation towards achieving the goals that are set

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations and drive actions

  • Deep understanding of the eCommerce and revenue based financing industry, including the competitive landscape

  • Experience managing a P&L

What is important to point out is that you can do most or all of the above mentioned and can point to your real experience doing it. You’ve probably done it at companies of different shapes, sizes and industries. Given what we do, experience in financial services, fintech and business-to-business organisations is particularly interesting to us.

On top of that, you’re amazing at prioritisation. You make sure you’re not spread too thin while also giving teams the support they need. You spend your time on the things that make a positive difference. People get why you’ve chosen to say ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘not yet’, and are ok with it.

What you’re like as a person and how you treat people is a big deal for us. People love working with you. You’re helpful and generous with your time and knowledge. People love helping you back. People know where they stand with you.

You’re always looking to learn and grow, on a personal and professional level. And you’re always looking to help others learn and grow by sharing your own knowledge and experience.

You know why diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging matters, and speak up when we can do better.
