About the role

You’re excited for a unique role and the opportunity to build and manage a task force of successful Field Sales agents, within Tide’s Business Development team. As a Field Sales Team Lead for the Personal Contact Marketing channel, you will be creating a team from scratch and will be responsible for creating the strategy for Tide’s new field sales team. Your aim will be to generate new business for Tide via face-to-face interaction.

You and your team will be travelling across Germany to spread the word about Tide. You’ll be incredibly data-driven, organized with strong attention to detail, whilst you work to organize events and sales projects across two sales teams (Onboarding and Business Development). Working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment will excite you, you’ll thrive working towards high targets in an environment of ambiguity and will have an interest in the fintech industry.

You will need to have leadership qualities and be able to motivate a task force in a data-driven way, this will require you to build your own dashboards and monitor individual KPIs for the Field Sales agents, and yourself. You will be the ‘go-to’ person, so it's imperative that you are well organized and are able to work independently to prevent any potential blockers whilst providing visibility to other stakeholders.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

For all Field Sales projects/events attended you will be accountable for the targets being met.

NOTE: Whilst you scale the team, you will be completing door-to-door sales and hosting events yourself.

  1. Hiring and Managing a Team of Temporary Field / Door-to-Door Sales Agents

    • Building a team of successful field sales agents nationally around Germany, owning the entire end-to-end recruitment process (sourcing CVs via job ads, your own network, and LinkedIn).

    • Suggesting alternative and creative solutions to ensure continuous hiring of temporary agents, such as attending recruitment fairs, working with marketing agencies, etc.

    • Ensuring the onboarding experience is seamless, creating and executing a new onboarding process.

    • Managing temporary staff for these field sales projects - training, coaching, and being responsible for their targets and day-to-day activities.

    • Travelling around Germany to monitor performance, providing daily coaching and feedback to ensure success.

  2. Day-to-Day Team Organizing

    • Creating a strategy for scaling Tide’s field sales function.

    • Ensuring sales are compliant and agents adhere to Tide values.

    • Planning weekly rotas, ensuring agents' time is split between calls and field sales work to maintain motivation and prevent fatigue.

    • Managing the team budget, paying commission and initiatives, and building a competitive commission structure for agents.

    • Meeting your own field sales targets and joining the team in and around Germany for coaching purposes, approaching prospective leads and converting them into fully-fledged Tide members.

    • Presenting daily and weekly on the field sales stats, optimizing based on the most successful locations and events.

  3. Events

    • Organizing events end-to-end (sales-focused exhibitions, team-focused days out, and recruitment-focused hiring evenings).

    • Working with designers for exhibitions to set up stands, organizing merchandise, food orders, and training materials ahead of events.

    • Designing tracking metrics for events, ordering necessary software and furniture for stands (TVs, Wifi, Laptops, etc.).

    • Being present on stand during events to ensure smooth operations and accountability for end-to-end targets.

    • Building strong relationships with the PCM team, identifying areas for management to improve well-being, and suggesting and executing solutions.

    • Conducting monthly engagement surveys to enhance understanding of team engagement and organizing activities and initiatives to tackle this.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • You have excellent written and spoken German language

  • Are ambitious, a self-starter, and do not need hand-holding.

  • Are a natural salesperson, keen to push conversions over the line and hit the targets.

  • Have experience managing field sales representatives/your own experience handling door-to-door sales.

  • Have experience managing sales events and building large teams/task forces of temporary staff.

  • Are comfortable shaping a role as your own, excited to come in and hit the ground running from day 1.

  • Are data-driven, defining field sales strategies/processes based on data, and constantly optimizing and improving.

  • Have strong IT skills with Excel, PowerPoint, high attention to detail, and comfort documenting all projects undertaken by yourself and the field sales agents.
