We are looking to expand our team and are hiring a Head of People & Portfolio Services in Vienna, Berlin or Munich.
About the Position
In this role you will be responsible for supporting our startups we invest in and lead the internal People function from a strategic perspective.

Portfolio responsibilities

Speedinvest has a unique and innovative approach to supporting the startups we invest in. We strive to understand their needs and provide hands-on support in key areas throughout their growth journey. One of these key areas is the People (HR) function, where you will be supporting founders in building strong People strategies and processes by providing hands-on, impactful guidance and advice. You will be responsible for enhancing our network of vetted partners, such as recruiting agencies, coaches, HR tools, and more.

In addition, you will be enriching our talent pool, ensuring effective matches between candidates and suitable roles within our portfolio companies. You will be instrumental in connecting founders and People experts within our portfolio, enabling them to collaboratively tackle HR-related challenges and fostering a community that provides mutual support among its members.

Internal responsibilities

As the Head of People you will be responsible for developing HR strategies and ensuring their implementation by collaborating with various stakeholders and the support of the People team. The aim is to attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring that our workforce remains engaged, motivated, and empowered to achieve our strategic objectives. You will actively be part of decision bodies within Speedinvest to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. Additionally, you will oversee that all People operations are carried out smoothly and effectively across all our office locations.

Your Responsibilities
Portfolio
  • You will own strategic projects such as expanding our talent pool, enhancing and creating relevant content for our knowledge base, and conducting research
  • You will consult the founders and investment managers on various People topics, such as how to build a People team, hire the first employees, scale their organization, and manage performance cycles, among others
  • You will attend events across Europe to network, keep up with the latest HR trends, and establish strategic alliances for Speedinvest founders
  • You will plan and execute your own events and workshops for founders and executives across Europe
  • You will be part of the Portfolio success management team and create the strategy for the years ahead
  • You will negotiate deals with our existing preferred vendors and expand the network
  • You will collaborate closely with our Product team to implement your ideas onto our platform
  • You will manage relationships within Speedinvest, communicating progress, and launching new initiatives
Internal
  • You will be responsible for the strategic organizational design of internal People topics to continuously improve the employee lifecycle for example developing and rolling out learning & development initiatives for different target groups across Speedinvest and measuring their effectiveness
  • You will advise, especially senior leaders, on strategic, operational, precarious or sensitive People topics
  • You will strategically oversee and advise on the entire employee lifecycle including recruiting, learning & development, performance management, talent management etc.
  • You will manage the People team consisting of 3 dedicated professionals
Your Qualifications
  • You are a passionate People Leader and bring extensive HR expertise, backed by at least 5 years of relevant professional experience within startups/scale-ups
  • You have prior experience in a highly international environment and are proficient in both English and German
  • You have been through phases of high growth as well as scale-downs, and have experience in recruiting executives and being a part of the company's leadership team
  • You are a great communicator and enjoy sharing what you have learned
  • You bring an extensive network that spans from executive recruiters and candidates to coaches and other HR experts
  • You enjoy attending events and building a network
  • You are able to assess the talent market to identify trends, bottlenecks and supply needs
  • You are strategic in your approach to HR, data-driven, and interested in new trends
  • You are enthusiastic about expanding your horizons beyond HR and enjoy introducing new innovative ideas to best support our Founders at scale
