🚀 About us
We're building the next-generation web search engine for AI. Our infrastructure runs on clusters of 1,000+ machines, processing petabytes of data and powering large-scale retrieval for production AI workloads.
We've raised a top notch seed round from leading US and European investors. Our team is composed of the top 0.1% of talent in the field: PhD researchers and engineers from Amazon Alexa and leading research labs, ex-MBB consultants, and operators from venture-backed startups. We hire only people who can be the best in the world at what they do.
We're already in production with design-partner customers across enterprise search, AI research, and vertical AI applications. The opportunity is enormous. The bar is high. If you want to define a category, this is the place.
🎯 The role
We're hiring our first Developer Relations hire, based in San Francisco. Our customers are AI engineers building agents and LLM applications, and the center of gravity of that community is SF. Your job is to make developers successful with Seltz and to make Seltz visible where those developers are: in their codebases, at their meetups, and in their feeds.
This role is half builder, half connector, and you need to be excellent at both. You will write code, ship demos, and publish technical content. You will also be out in person, building genuine relationships across the SF AI ecosystem: engineers, founders, labs, and communities.
Everything you learn from developers feeds directly back into the product. You will work closely with our Head of Revenue and our engineering team, and you will define how this function works at Seltz.
📋 What you'll own
Technical content. Cookbooks, sample agents, integration guides, and benchmark deep-dives that show developers what our API can do.
The SF presence. Meetups, hackathons, conferences, and relationships with AI labs, agent-framework communities, and the builders shaping the ecosystem. You show up in person, consistently.
The developer onboarding funnel. Quickstarts, docs quality, and time-to-first-query. You make the first fifteen minutes with Seltz unforgettable.
Ecosystem integrations. Examples and integrations for the stacks developers already use: MCP, agent frameworks, and popular LLM tooling.
Community and support. Developer channels, first-line technical support triage, and the relationships that turn users into advocates.
The feedback loop. You translate developer friction into concrete product and engineering priorities, and you close the loop back to the community when we ship.
👤 Who you are
You combine real technical skills with real people skills. You write production-quality code (Python and/or TypeScript) and you build genuine relationships in person. Both are requirements.
You have built with LLMs, agents, or RAG pipelines and are credible in a deep technical conversation with AI engineers.
You communicate exceptionally well across formats: written tutorials, live demos, and talks in front of a room.
You are energized by being out at events, meeting developers, and turning conversations into community.
You are based in San Francisco. This role is SF-based, non-negotiable.
You are self-directed. You will be the first person in this function and will define how it works.
💡 Bonus
A public track record: technical blog, open-source projects, talks, or an existing developer audience.
Background in search, retrieval, vector databases, or data infrastructure.
Prior DevRel or developer experience work at an API-first or dev-tools company.
Experience organizing hackathons or community events.
🎁 What we offer
Competitive salary and meaningful equity. This is a founding-team hire and the equity reflects it.
Direct work with the founders. No layers, no political theater.
Based in San Francisco, with regular in-person presence across the local AI ecosystem.
Comprehensive benefits package, including US health insurance, US 401k, flexible time off and more.
Visa sponsorship for international candidates (e.g., STEM OPT, OPT, H1B, O1, E3).
Seltz is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
