About Rivia
Rivia specializes in AI-Driven Analytics and Data Infrastructure for Successful Biopharma Clinical Trials. Biopharmas are the origin of most new therapies, yet often face inefficiencies and failures in clinical trials due to fragmented data and outdated tools. Our technology offers a real-time, integrated view of data to improve the evaluation of new treatments and trial conduct. Our vision is to become the unified data infrastructure that transforms clinical development lifecycles, bringing new therapies to market more successfully.
In 2 years, we've successfully launched Rivia to multiple Biotechs and are scaling to reach many more. Our rapid growth and innovative approach have recently been recognized by top investors, resulting in a €3M funding round led by Speedinvest. This investment provides us with the resources to accelerate our development and expand our impact in the biotech industry.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our team in Zurich. This role is designed for individuals eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting and develop new skills in algorithms and hands-on product engineering. During this 6-month internship, you will contribute to the development of new features for our SaaS product, with the role specifically focused on Software Engineering, allowing you to deepen your skills in this area.

Biggest learning and development opportunities experienced by previous interns:
- You quickly learn to understand customer needs, which helps you build products that solve real problems.
- Seeing your features in use by real people, and getting feedback from them, was a great learning experience.
- You develop project management skills, like planning and delivering features on a tight schedule, which isn't something you usually get at university.
- You learn to work strategically and adjust your pace when needed—sometimes you push fast, sometimes you slow down.
- Best practices like code reviews and retrospectives become second nature, and you live them out daily.
Challenges encountered by previous interns:
- You had to get comfortable working on complex technical problems.
- You regularly find and analyze problems, working through them to come up with improvements.
- Being around more senior engineers kept you on your toes. It was challenging, but it pushed you to learn fast and absorb everything you could from the team.
