Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the relationship with the Supervision departments of key regulators, as well as define supervisory strategy and engagement approach.
- Map supervisory landscape, and inventory of obligations, identifying owners and action plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Periodic report of the status of each action plan, communicating immediately any foreseen obstacles that might prevent MMIP or any other Visa subsidiary from being fully compliant with the regulation.
- Ensure that regulatory requests are addressed in a timely and consistent manner.
- Build-out metrics regarding trends and supervisory impact in Brazil to ensure an on-going measurement of goals and desirable outcomes from the different stakeholders. Maintain a repository of information used to respond to regulatory inquiries or consultations.
- Drives business awareness of supervisory matters and lead internal coordination with stakeholders to address supervisory deliverables (e.g., reporting, responses).
- Support businesses to respond to new supervisory obligations.
- Internal reporting to corporate governance bodies and management of in-country committees serving regulatory purposes.
- Implement regulatory frameworks to address proactively regulatory requirements and report obligations.
- Partner with business and functional teams to engage with government stakeholders, to foster sound conditions to operate across the region.
- Support in getting the necessary operating licenses and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular and ongoing reporting, metrics and information related to regulatory and supervisory management and assist with presentations and training materials.
- Prepare reports, briefings and other written products to update executive management on risk activities, issues and opportunities.
- Find opportunities to automate regulatory reports applicable to the region or optimize self-service tools to ensure high quality and timely reports.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships to (a) respond to ad hoc queries, analytics requirements and/or support regulatory framework defined to address growing expectations from regulators and industry in Brazil, and (b) partner with business and functional teams to engage effectively with government stakeholders, to foster sound conditions to operate, and maintain compliance with requirements to ensure positive outcomes with regulator in full alignment with local and regional leaders
In addition to the primary responsibility, the person in this role may be called on to support the team on other supervision and regulatory work streams as needed.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile - Ideal Experience and Exposure
• Bachelor´s Degree (or equivalent)
• At least 7 years of experience in a Payment Institution (IP), in one of the following functions: Corporate/Risk Governance, Compliance, Audit, Regulatory Management, Legal or related areas.
• Experience in regulatory requirements compliance for Payment Institution.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Previous experience in coordinating multi-functional teams to execute in market risk functions, programs, and initiatives.
• Experience with regulator management and understanding of current and emerging payment system regulatory trends.
• Strong ability to communicate, collaborate and influence within a global, matrix organization and experience preparing/reviewing/delivering executive level communications
• Knowledge of the payments industry and the major trends affecting our stakeholders, including regulatory, market environment, competitive landscape, and technology.
• Being able to communicate and influence other teams.
• Experience in developing, transforming and delivering data strategies or emerging platform features to enable analytics and reporting capabilities, as well as machine learning, and warehousing management
• Professional track record of responsibility for large, complex programs and guiding cross functional teams to complete these programs with a high level of effectiveness.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, while demonstrating grace under pressure and comfort with problem solving ambiguity.
• Solid general management background, with proven track record in relationship building, reports generation and project leadership.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese. Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in generating reports, using multiple tools such as Excel, PowerBi, among others.
• Analytical thinking to audit processes.
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience as a PMO is a plus
