Orakl Oncology is a techbio company, based in Paris and aiming to transform the fight against cancer. We combine best-in-class biology with data-powered and AI-driven analysis to enable companies to identify and optimise new anti-cancer therapies. We are an interdisciplinary platform working at the intersection of cell biology, engineering and machine learning.
Orakl Oncology is a spin-off from the Gustave Roussy Institute, our offices are located in Paris and our lab in le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. We have more than 30 years of combined research in the oncology field and we’re now looking for the best talents to come and join our ambitious team in the fight against cancer!
We’re looking for an exceptional lab technician to help us develop and run Orakl Oncology’s lab. This person would be a key player in the development of the company. In particular, the position will consist in participating in the lab development, expanding the Orakl biobank and maintaining the lab environment to maximise research efficiency of the Orakl scientists. This person will be instrumental in the design of the lab operation processes, from cell culture to quality control.
In particular they will:
anticipate the needs for consumables and reagents for the daily experiments scheduled in the lab
carry out cell line and patient-derived cell culture and experiments (2D and 3D) following established SOPs
conduct assay development and optimisation with senior lab members
guarantee the traceability of lab activities and conduct initial analyses on the laboratory experiments
participate in the laboratory maintenance
The employee will be trained to be able to conduct experiments on our patient-derived models so that they will become autonomous on all our activities.
Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply :)
Need-to-haves:
BSc/MSc (or equivalent degree such as BTS, DUT, Licence) in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines.
Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, 3D cell culture and preferably organoid culture.
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational rigour.
Flexibility, resourcefulness and a history of overcoming operational challenges.
A genuine enthusiasm and passion for teamwork and learning.
Fluency in English is required
Nice-to-haves:
A general understanding and genuine curiosity for cancer biology
Basic knowledge in molecular biology (RT PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, DNA and RNA isolation etc.)
Capability to interact in an interdisciplinary setting with senior biologists, ML engineers and researchers
Strong communication skills
Orakl is an intensely multi-disciplinary project. If you want to interact with stellar clinicians, biologists and engineers on a day-to-day basis to transform how oncology research is done, this is the place for you.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary and benefits.
Mission: Work in a cutting-edge environment, on the bleeding edge of cancer research.
Growth opportunities: we’re rapidly expanding the scope of our work and you will be offered multiple opportunities to grow with it!
Impact: you’re going to be participating in a fast-growing, multi-faceted project with multiple opportunities to shape it according to your interests.
