Orakl Oncology is a techbio company, based in Paris and aiming to transform the fight against cancer. We combine best-in-class biology with data-powered and AI-driven analysis to enable companies to identify and optimise new anti-cancer therapies. We are an interdisciplinary platform working at the intersection of cell biology, engineering and machine learning.
Orakl Oncology is a spin-off from the Gustave Roussy Institute, our offices are located in Paris and our lab in le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. We have more than 30 years of combined research in the oncology field and we’re now looking for the best talents to come and join our ambitious team in the fight against cancer!
Orakl Oncology’s lab generates large volume of imaging and molecular data and we have access to deep, matched clinical data from real life patients in the clinic. This unique database allows us to extract critical information and generate transformative insights for our internal research teams and for our partners. In particular, we believe this wide collection of multimodal data can be the key to discover new therapeutic targets and to better understand the behaviour of drugs before they reach the clinic.
As the Lead Computational Biologist you will design and implement Orakl’s computational biology strategy. In particular you will:
Lead Orakl’s target discovery strategy
Lead Orakl’s biomarker design and discovery strategy
Collaborate with our scientists on our internal R&D programs
Build multi-modal analysis pipelines integrating patient and PDO-derived omics and wetlab data
Collaborate with cell culture and data management teams to integrate genomics and experimental data workflows
If you’re passionate about precision medicine, multi-modal approaches and functional assays, if you enjoy collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and want to be a part of building the next-generation platform for making biotechnological products - please apply! This position involves significant ownership of the research projects and can evolve into a key management position within Orakl.
This position reports directly to our CTO and also needs to work effectively and collaboratively with the teams at Orakl Oncology responsible for cell culture, wet lab experimentation and data management.
Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply :)
Need-to-Haves

3 years of hands-on experience in leading AI driven research projects
A solid track record of achievements in the field, including (but not limited to) publications, conference presentations, contributions to open source libraries etc.
Deep expertise in omics data (WES, RNAseq, scRNAseq etc.) and their analysis
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure is a bonus
Exceptional collaboration an communication skills
Proficiency in English
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in working with the modern code development toolbox (bonus points if you have DevOps experience)
Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical underpinnings, and the ability to translate this into clinical or biological implications for our lab-based team
Experience with engineering change control processes and/or software version control (Git, VSS, etc.)
Passion for the intersection of data, biology and the clinic
Orakl is an intensely multidisciplinary project. If you want to interact with stellar clinicians, biologists and engineers on a day-to-day basis to transform oncology research, this is the place for you.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary and benefits.
Mission: Work in a cutting-edge environment, on the bleeding edge of cancer research.
Growth opportunities: we’re rapidly expanding the scope of our work and you will be offered multiple opportunities to grow with it!
Impact: you’re going to be participating in a fast-growing, multi-faceted project with multiple opportunities to shape it according to your interests.
