Orakl Oncology is a techbio company, based in Paris and aiming to transform the fight against cancer. Orakl Oncology is a spin-off from the Gustave Roussy Institute, our offices are located in Paris and our lab in le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. We have more than 30 years of combined research in the oncology field and we’re now looking for the best talents to come and join our ambitious team in the fight against cancer!
We are seeking an outstanding tinkerer and experimenter to automate the Orakl Oncology platform. They will be responsible for developing and running high-throughput workflows on our patient-derived organoids (these can be drug screens, CRISPR assays etc.).
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will:
Lead our cell culture and experimentation automation strategy
Source and onboard new equipment, integrate multiple devices and keep our automation in flight
Develop and implement our LIMS and data collection strategy

This position reports directly to our CTO and also needs to work effectively and collaboratively with the teams at Orakl Oncology responsible for cell culture and data management.

Need-to-Haves
MSc or PhD degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
Ideally of 3 years of hands-on experience with developing protocols on various liquid handlers (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton, Opentrons) and other laboratory automation equipment.
Excellent Python proficiency.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Exceptional collaboration an communication skills.
Excitement to learn, contribute, and drive innovation in an early stage startup environment. Having an appetite for its ambiguity and fast pace.
Nice-to-Haves
Background in cell culture or computer science is a plus.
Familiarity with automated laboratory scheduling software.
Proficiency in writing liquid handler scripts.
Familiarity with workflow management systems.
Experience with engineering change control processes and/or software version control (Git, VSS, etc.)
