Orakl Oncology is a techbio company, based in Paris and aiming to transform the fight against cancer. Orakl Oncology is a spin-off from the Gustave Roussy Institute, our offices are located in Paris and our lab in le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. We have more than 30 years of combined research in the oncology field and we’re now looking for the best talents to come and join our ambitious team in the fight against cancer!
We’re looking for a biologist with significant experience in the field to help us develop Orakl’s patient-derived organoid expertise. As such, you’ll participate in critical R&D projects for Orakl’s development. In particular, you will:.
Design and maintain Orakl's biobank
Set up and implement Orakl’s cell culture processes and maintain the lab team’s skills in organoid culture (including onboarding, regular trainings etc.)
Keep Orakl at the forefront of organoid culture. This includes developing new protocols, increasing Orakl capabilities and reviewing the literature for cell culture improvements
Develop new innovative assays to support R&D projects
Participate in the design of Orakl Oncology research programs
Handle key experiments for internal and external research programs
This position reports directly to our CTO and also needs to work effectively and collaboratively with the teams at Orakl Oncology responsible for delivering contracts with our partners.
Need to haves:
PhD or equivalent in cellular biology, bioengineering or any related fields.
5+ years of managing and designing research projects.
A proven track record of exceptional abilities in protocol development and experimental design.
Deep expertise in organoid technology and/or stem cell culture and/or 3D cell culture.
In-depth experience in live-image microscopy and development of microscopy protocols.
Enthusiasm and passion about teamwork, learning and teaching.
Full English fluency.
Nice to haves:
Experience with high-throughput liquid handlers (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton etc.)
You have experience in CRISPR technology
Familiarity with Python or R
Familiarity with image analysis protocols.
