Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in manual testing of software applications, preferably in the finance or fintech domain. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of testing methodologies, hands-on experience in functional testing, and a basic understanding of API testing concepts. You will work closely with product, development, and business teams to ensure high-quality and reliable software delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Understand business and functional requirements, particularly for finance-related applications
- Design, write, and execute manual test cases based on requirements and use cases
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT support testing
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools
- Conduct basic API testing using tools like Postman or similar
- Validate data accuracy, calculations, and workflows related to financial transactions
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues
- Prepare test execution reports and provide test status updates
- Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in manual software testing
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing
- Basic understanding of API testing concepts (REST APIs, request/response, status codes)
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman (preferred)
- Knowledge of finance domain concepts such as payments, transactions, reconciliation, invoices, or banking workflows
- Experience using test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr)
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Good to Have
- Exposure to automation testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation
- Experience in fintech, banking, accounting, or ERP systems
- Understanding of security and compliance basics in finance applications
