Data Visualization Specialist

Job Overview:

As a Data Visualization Specialist, you will play a central role in transforming complex privacy, data discovery, GRC, ethics, and ESG data into simple, intuitive, and interactive visuals that empower our customers to make informed decisions and report on their trust intelligence programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver lovable user experiences and mentor those around you on proper data visualization practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create data visualizations within Power BI.
  • Develop data visualization concepts, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma.
  • Craft thoughtful UX writing to support your data visualizations.
  • Develop, maintain, and advocate for the reporting design system, including components, patterns, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to understand their needs and ensure the reporting design system meets the requirements of the business and its users.
  • Conduct independent research to understand customer needs and plan for the future of your product areas.
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability for your team's work and outcomes.
  • Meet with customers weekly to know and represent them in the Software Development Life
  • Cycle (SDLC) process.
  • Define your problem space through continuous discovery and exploration, crafting a deep understanding of customers and business needs.
  • Be a primary advocate for the user, helping others understand the customer's voice.
  • Work as an analytics partner, extending and improving the knowledge and capabilities of the product and UX team.
  • Communicate with data visualization vendors and troubleshoot dashboard and platform issues

Qualifications:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience designing and managing business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization solutions in an Agile setting.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to understand key business insights, to transform complex data, and tell a story using elegant and insightful visualizations and copy.
  • You are passionate about re-imagining patterns and helping organizations gain key insights from their data.
  • You can share a proven aptitude for UX design, research and strategy.
  • You are an expert in the entire Power BI application hierarchy and creating data visualizations in
  • Power BI.

Proprietary/Internal

  • You have expertise in data modeling for analytics.
  • You have experience with SQL, including complex queries and performance -focused data organization.
  • You have experience with internal and external requirements gathering.
  • You have hands-on expertise in architecting and administering Power BI.
  • You have an expert understanding of modern analytics concepts and their relationship to visualization: data warehousing, data engineering, and data science.
  • You have experience working within WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • You are willing to work in collaborative teams to solve problems.
  • You're a clear, concise, and persuasive communicator.
  • You have a high degree of visual polish in your UI design.
  • You are loyal to customers and your craft, needing to be involved in customer product decisions from concept to completion.
  • You are driven by understanding user behavior and have experience designing complex experiences.
  • You have exact standards and constantly upgrade your understanding of UX and data visualization best practices.
  • You are passionate about solving problems, innovation, and removing friction from users experiences.
  • You are resilient. You can manage multiple input points, meet varying deadlines, be realistic
  • about project releases, and know where to put your efforts.

For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.

Salary Range
$1$100 USD
