The Challenge

The OneTrust Privacy Associate is a member of the OneTrust Global Privacy Team which requires an individual with legal expertise who can translate that expertise into practical advice. The Global Privacy Team is a dynamic group that maintains OneTrust’s global privacy compliance program, contributes to product discussions, and produces white papers, blog posts, webinars, and training materials about important privacy and security-related topics. The individual in this position needs to be able to produce that content quickly and thoughtfully. Familiarity with privacy law and related experience is also essential. An excellent working knowledge of the EU and UK GDPR, as well as CCPA and other US privacy laws is necessary and a CIPP/E, CIPP/US or CIPP/M is preferred.

Your Mission

  • Assist the counsel and senior counsel in global day-to-day tasks related to product development focused on privacy and data protection across all the jurisdictions we cater for.
  • Liaise with Product teams across all OneTrust modules to support their operations and to enhance our product.
  • Hands on developing content for the OneTrust platform, in particular creation of templates across modules, proposing features and enhancements based on legal requirements, spotting gaps on the product and assist with the building blocks of new tools and products.
  • Support customers with best practices implementing our product and carry out horizon scanning for future requirements.
  • Engage in Privacy by Design activities to ensure that our tools and their components are privacy centric by developing a thorough understanding of the underlying technology and embedding PbD principles from the early stages.
  • Assist the Privacy Compliance team with expert opinions and guidance for their successful management of our internal Privacy Program.
  • Review marketing materials for legal accuracy.
  • Draft reports, white papers, and any other document that may be relevant to our Product development.
  • Represent OneTrust at events as speaker, panelist, or moderator.

Your Experience Includes:

  • JD or international equivalent
  • Research experience
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulatory requirements and compliance issues
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to travel (10%-20%)

Extra Awesome

  • Fluency in more than one language preferred.
  • Post graduate degree (LLM) in Law and Technology, Privacy and Data Protection or similar.
  • Experience or familiarity with using OneTrust privacy software solution for compliance goals
  • Experience in a trade association, think-tank, university, consulting, law firm, compliance, and in-house
