The RoleAs an Intern in Data Analysis in Biotech Research team, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to protect the planet by developing materials for clean and closed material loops. This position offers an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a bachelor's degree related to data and gain hands-on experience in a real-world environment. Throughout your internship, you will gain hands-on experience in data management and data analysis techniques. Your efforts will help enhance the efficiency and reliability of the organization's data collection system, ultimately leading to more informed and data-driven decision-making. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving the organization's goals and furthering its mission to harness data for impactful outcomes.This role reports to Lucio D’Andrea, Head of Biotech Research, and has key stakeholder relationships with team members throughout the company. This role is remote, and can be located anywhere CET +- 1 hours.Part-Time 20-30 hrs, limited to 3-6 months + How you'll help build one

  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing:
  • Collaborate with the research team to collect raw data from various sources, such as experiments, simulations, or publications/patents.
  • Apply data cleaning techniques to identify and rectify outliers/errors, inconsistencies, and missing values in the collected data.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality through validation checks and data imputation .
  • Data Structuring and Organization:
  • Assist in structuring and organizing the cleaned data into appropriate formats for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Assist in transforming and formatting the data to fit appropriate data models and/or databases, ensuring data is well-organized and readily accessible for analysis.
  • Collaborate with the research team to define data hierarchies and relationships, making the data more suitable for advanced analysis.
  • Data Analysis and Insights:
  • Assist in performing data analysis using statistical methods or other relevant analytical techniques.
  • Generate reports, visualizations, and summaries of the analyzed data to present actionable insights to the research team.
  • Contribute to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in the data that can inform decision-making processes and support the development of suistanable materials for clean and closed material loops.


Please note that while the intern will primarily assist ongoing projects, there may be opportunities to propose ideas or solutions within the context of the existing research and development initiatives.

Who You Are

  • A student pursuing a bachelor's degree in a data-related field, such as Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline. Students from other fields such as biology, materials science, or chemistry with knowledge of data are also welcome to apply.
  • They possess strong analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of effectively extracting meaningful insights from data and applying data cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
  • Good command in Python programming and and familiar with common libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib
  • [Optional] Knowledge in LIMS softwares like Benchling, and SQL are a plus.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective collaboration with researchers, strong communication skills for sharing findings, and fluency in English.


We welcome undergrad students (after at least three semesters) or with a completed bachelor's or master's degree.

Hiring Process

We want you to know what to expect out of your candidate experience with us and make this as much as possible a two sided process, allowing you to get to know us as well.

Once submitted, your CV will be reviewed by the Biotech Research team, and shortlisted for interviews. Everyone will be contacted to find out the outcome of their application.

There will be three interview stages:

  • Introduction call with our TA team – 30 minutes
  • Call with Research Lead from the team - to share more about one.five, how we work & to dig into the day to day of the role more and answer any questions you may have for us – 30 minutes
  • Final interview with Head of Biotech Research to clarify last open questions and next steps of hiring process – 30 minutes
