We strive to make energy free for European households. We achieve this by developing new energy products with Europe’s leading technology companies and embed energy as a cost-saving feature for electric vehicles, heat pumps, battery storage systems and more.

About the team

Started by Stefan and Nils in 2024, the Nomos team now consists of former researchers, founders and senior engineers united by a deep frustration of the current energy system and the vision to build a category leading enterprise out of Europe.

We strive to build a strong culture of effective communication, ownership and belonging. In this critical phase of our venture this translates to working in-person in Berlin Mitte with a group of people that value meritocracy, curiosity and craftsmanship.

What you'll do

Nomos faces an abundance of complex technical challenges. We're building a full-stack energy provider from scratch. The surface area is large and our current roles reflect the challenges we've prioritized. If you believe you can help us deal with complexity outside these roles, this job description is for you.

Some of the problems on our radar: AI-powered customer support that actually resolves issues. Procurement forecasting. Real-time trading optimization. Data infrastructure that scales with a rapidly growing customer base.

You'll own problems end-to-end. We'll figure out together where your skills create the most leverage, then you take it from problem discovery to production. You use AI tools as force multipliers, but the judgment is yours.

Your scope will shift. You'll help shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes alongside your core work. What matters most in month one will look different than in month six. That's expected.

Who you are

You've built something real. We don't filter by title, years, or discipline. We assess you by what you've done. Maybe you built critical infrastructure for a fast-growing venture. Maybe you published research that changed how people think about a problem. Maybe you shipped a product on nights and weekends that people use. Show us.

You don't fit our other roles, but you know you belong here. Your best work has happened at the intersection of disciplines, or in a role that didn't exist before you showed up. You've been the person who saw a problem no one else owned and just solved it.

You're deeply technical. Whether your craft is systems engineering, data, ML, infrastructure, security, or something else, you're dissatisfied with surface-level problem solving. You go deep. You have strong opinions about how things should be built, earned by experience.

You thrive in ambiguity. At our stage, half the job is figuring out what the job is. You're energized by that, not paralyzed.

You want your work to reach people. What we build directly shapes how millions of Europeans consume and pay for energy. You want to work on problems that touch everyday life and make the energy transition actually work.

You want a seat at the table, not just a seat on the team. We are a very small team. Every person has an outsized impact on what we build, how we build it, and where the company goes. You'll shape Nomos, not just work on it.

Compensation Range: €75K - €120K
