Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Pathologist to join our team in Kassel, Germany. This role plays a critical part in assay development, biomarker interpretation, and clinical trial support, partnering closely with laboratory teams, project managers, and clients.

This is a high-impact, client-facing role that combines scientific expertise, diagnostic interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration to support cutting-edge oncology and immunology programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and validate new histological assays, ensuring scientific rigor and clinical relevance
  • Provide expert interpretation of biomarker data across assay development initiatives
  • Review, evaluate, and release test results for exploratory studies and prospective clinical trials
  • Support central lab testing for sponsor-driven studies
  • Ensure compliance within a GCLP-regulated environment
  • Perform and interpret digital image analysis for biomarker assessment
  • Document and manage results within LIMS and associated reporting tools
  • Partner with laboratory teams and project managers to troubleshoot test failures and optimize workflows
  • Participate in client discussions and provide scientific consultation
  • Contribute to scientific presentations and internal/external knowledge sharing
  • Provide subject matter expertise across oncology and immunology biomarker strategies

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

  • Board-certified Pathologist (German board certification preferred, but not required)
  • Significant experience in predictive biomarkers, with a focus on oncology and/or immunology
  • Strong expertise in histopathology techniques, including:
    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
    • Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF)
    • FISH
    • RNA in situ hybridization
  • Experience with digital pathology and image analysis platforms
  • Familiarity working in clinical trials and/or GCLP-regulated environments
  • Excellent English communication skills; German proficiency is a plus
  • Additional experience in cytology, hematopathology, or genomics is advantageous

Location:

  • 100% on site in Kassel, Germany
