About the Role

As the Safety and Compliance Lead, you will work closely with other members of the Ride Hailing Operations and Cross Site Hold Co Leaders to institute a culture of safety and compliance, supported by a robust strategy, systems and processes for ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance across our Operations. These will at all times support and be aligned with the Safety Standards and SOP’s of our partner organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Establishing a strategy and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory and partner safety and compliance standards and mitigate operational risks.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to establish and maintain quality assurance processes, including regular audits, inspections, and assessments to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.

  • Serve as a safety advocate within the organization, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability among employees and stakeholders through training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct analysis of safety data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance safety outcomes and reduce incidents.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the Operations safety landscape, and provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other internal & external stakeholders to represent the company's interests and influence policy development and industry standards related to transportation safety.

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive safety governance framework for operations, encompassing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance.

  • You will engage and partner at all levels of the organization.

  • You will lead multi-functional teams and promote change

What you will need for this position

  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in transportation safety management or a similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to transportation operations.

  • You will interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights to drive safety improvements.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification.

  • Experience in the AV sector is preferred however Fleet/Mobility/Logistics/Operations/Operations Management experience will be considered

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present at all levels within the organisation

  • Outstanding organisational skills with a track record of managing organisational systems

  • Growth oriented with a proven track record of scaling up products and new geographies

  • The ability to work autonomously in a decentralised organisation

  • Right to work in the United States of America.

Directly reporting to our CEO, and closely working with our Cross Site Holdco Team.
