mimic is a venture-backed deep tech robotics & AI company building physical AI systems for industrial deployment. Our platform combines dexterous robotic hands with cutting-edge AI trained on real-world human observations, enabling complex manual tasks to be automated in production environments and helping address global labor shortages.
As a Field Engineer, you will own the deployment, uptime, and operational performance of mimic robotic stations at customer sites. This includes debugging any issues occurring on-site, identifying problems and fixing them to ensure station uptime.
Responsibilities
- Set up robot stations on-site during customer deployments
- Debug on-site software & systems issues around robot arms, data collection tools and the mimic software stack under linux, with the help of debugging tools
- Feed field learnings back into engineering and product
- Work closely with AI team to reproduce and analyze failure cases
- Solve technical problems in time-sensitive situations in a calm and coordinated manner
- Serve as the primary technical contact on-site, communicating clearly and professionally with customers
- Improve existing station setup and maintenance processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience integrating or deploying industrial robotic arms (e.g., UR, KUKA, FANUC, ABB or similar)
- Comfortable to work and debug on linux environments
- Relevant experience in deploying complex systems in a customer context
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
- Willingness to travel for on-site deployments and customer support
- Driving License (B)

- Knowledge of hardware and electronics
- Experience working with industrial protocols and PLCs
