Head of Retail Banking Products

Location: Cairo and Riyadh – hybrid

Reporting to: Chief Retail Banking Officer (CRBO)

Company Stage: Series B+ | Regulated fintech / Neobank

Coverage: Egypt and KSA with future MENA expansion

ROLE PURPOSE

The Head of Retail Products is accountable for designing, building, and scaling retail banking products across consumer credit, accounts, cards and payments among other products. The role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle and ensures products are customer-centric, commercially viable and sustainable, and regulator-ready.

CORE MANDATE (FIRST 12–18 MONTHS)

• Manage and expand a cohesive retail product portfolio across core consumer use cases

• Launch and scale multiple flagship retail products per year

• Reduce time-to-market while meeting regulatory and risk standards

• Embed data-driven product management

• Support regional expansion with localized propositions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Retail Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define retail banking product vision and multi-year roadmap

• Prioritize features based on customer impact, economics, and risk

• Own product discovery, experimentation, and iteration cycles

2. Product Portfolio Ownership

• Digital current and savings accounts

• Debit, prepaid, and credit cards

• Direct to Consumer and salary-backed credit

• Wallets, payments, remittances

• Embedded finance propositions

3. Product Development & Delivery

• Lead cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, UX, Data)

• Translate regulatory requirements into product design

• Drive agile delivery and release governance

4. Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Readiness

• Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal

• Support regulator submissions and product approvals

• Ensure consumer protection and disclosure standards

5. Customer Experience & Journey Ownership

• Design onboarding, activation, and servicing journeys

• Use data and customer feedback to optimize experience

• Own journey conversion and satisfaction metrics

6. Commercial Performance & Optimization

• Own product KPIs: adoption, usage, revenue, margin

• Optimize pricing, limits, and feature bundles

• Support P&L and unit economics analysis

7. Team Leadership & Product Culture

• Build and mentor product managers and UX teams

• Set standards for discovery, experimentation, and delivery

• Champion customer-centric product culture

KEY KPIs

• Product adoption and active usage

• Time-to-market and release velocity

• Product-level unit economics

• NPS and CSAT

• Regulatory and risk issues related to products

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• 5–10+ years in product management within fintech or digital bank

• Ownership of core retail banking products

• Experience in regulated environments

• Proven ability to scale products to large user bases

• Strong stakeholder management skills

This role is critical in translating retail strategy into scalable, compliant, and loved consumer products.
