As our new Senior Developer Experience Engineer, you will:

We’re looking for experienced engineers that are looking to empower and enable kevin.'s product teams. You will have a chance to use your experience to support the vision of Developer Experience at our company.

The key principle for the DevEx team is to enable developers to have a productive and satisfying experience when creating products. We believe in enabling as much automation and self-service as possible. We don’t want developers to be blocked waiting to have service provided to them. Using tools like Backstage or GitOps approach we want teams to be able to run & own their services without unnecessary friction. A big part of delivering software is the ability to continuously integrate and deliver it. DevEx team is providing a CI/CD framework and consultations to enable other teams to have a four-lane highway speed when working on their products. On top of that we are providing several libraries to enable efficient integration of new tooling. We want all engineers in kevin. to be able to spin up a service in production within a day.

Our strategic pillars are as follows:

  • Software should be easy to deliver - it should be clear to all engineers where to find support & information needed to roll out a service to production.
  • Every engineer should feel productive - we want to remove all possible roadblocks - setting up CI/CD, enabling DORA metrics, and cataloging your services should be clear and easy to do.
  • Product teams able to focus on their product - knowledge behind CI/CD on GitLab, ArgoCD, and k8s should not be necessary to deliver business value. While we offer a paved road that hides complexity for our engineers, we want to still enable and support trailblazers to carve out their own paths.
  • Automate where it makes sense - we are constantly evaluating and identifying possible areas of automation. Providing products like GitLab CI/CD, Argo Workflows, Backstage, and DevLake.

What you need to be successful:

  • Senior experience with backend development in one of the following languages: Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python or GoLang.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of OOP principles, clean & good code design.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices.
  • Knowledge of Messaging Queues (RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS)
  • Experience with relational databaees such as MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Familiar with testing best practices.

Those will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Apache Beam/Flink, AWS or GitLab
  • Previous work experience in a horizontal team like DevEx, SRE or DevOps
