As our new AML Monitoring Specialist, you will:
- Independently review unusual transactions detected by the IT-based AML monitoring system and analyze their economic background.
- Investigate transactions requiring additional due diligence procedures.
- Perform retrospective transaction monitoring.
- Prepare and submit suspicious activity reports to financial intelligence units globally.
- Analyze and identify patterns and trends in AML related data.
- Conduct searches, gather data and record evidence from internal systems, the internet, commercial databases and enquiry with customers.
- Research and resolve issues while working across teams to acquire information.
- Keep track of false positive alerts and give recommendations on how to fine-tune transaction monitoring rules.
- Write or update existing transaction monitoring rules, procedures, handbooks.
- Help with other transaction monitoring related tasks.
- Keep learning and updating the latest news in the AML field.
What you need to be successful:
- 5+ years’ of professional experience in the AML Transaction Monitoring role.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and expectations related to AML Monitoring.
- Understanding of transaction flows, good knowledge of transaction monitoring of various industries and geographies (including high-risk, high-complexity client profiles).
- Flexibility and ability to work on your own initiative.
- Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership.
- Eager to learn and grow.
- University Degree in Banking, Finance, Law or Accounting.
- Fluent in English language, speaking and writing.
