🔧 The position

The Connect Team at Gigs develops and maintains our end-to-end hosted checkout and subscription management service. Connect allows companies to embed a conversion-optimized checkout anywhere as a low-code or no-code solution.

We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will empower engineers to build and ship the best-in-class plug-and-play experience for mobile plans and engage with a wide range of topics, including enhancing user experience, advancing innovation, and optimizing developer experience for our customers.

This role involves overseeing the strategic vision, driving innovation, and ensuring seamless user experiences. You will report to the Head of Engineering and lead a team of 6 senior engineers, mentor them for professional growth, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional growth, and foster technical decision-making within the team.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to ensure team development and satisfaction.
• Actively seek and hire globally distributed talent; conduct managerial interviews and train the team for technical interviews.
• Manage agile project management processes, breaking down product ideas and roadmaps into executable projects.
• Identify and address roadblocks and bottlenecks to ensure smooth and consistent project execution.
• Set up the team for success by continuously improving team processes and reacting swiftly to changes in business needs.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand project requirements and priorities.

• You have strong technical leadership experience, ideally within a start-up or a scale-up.
• You have worked with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React throughout your career.
• You have led cross-functional teams in an agile environment (5+ Engineers).
• You have built operation structures for developer-friendly platforms.
• You are an empathetic, strong communicator and an active listener.
• You are a self-organized individual who can operate autonomously.
• You can solve complex problems and remove roadblocks.
