The Role
At Gigs, we believe that great IT should be frictionless: Team members should get the right access, the right tools, and the right support to be productive. For this we buy the right tools and build the right processes. You'll be instrumental in achieving this vision.
We're looking for an IT Systems Engineer to manage and automate our corporate infrastructure. This is a hands-on, shipping-focused role. You'll be joining the Security & IT team as the third team member.
The Security & IT team covers everything from employee lifecycle and enablement, devices, and connectivity, to service configuration, systems integration and internal helpdesk. We are pragmatic and aware of the trade-offs of a small team, making strategic decisions on where to show excellence and what we can’t bite off right now.
You will work on our day-to-day operational load, build systems and automations to reduce that operational load, as well as inform our strategic direction.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain automation workflows across our corporate systems stack (Okta, Google Workspace, Google Cloud, Jamf, Humaans HRIS, Linear issues …)
- Improve our joiners, movers and leavers flows to eliminate manual toil and ensure security consistency
- Improve our IT request workflows, as well as developing self-service solutions that empower employees to solve their own IT needs
- Own macOS device management: procurement with zero-touch enrollment, configuration right-sizing, app and OS updates, and day-to-day productivity
- Support our global offices (Berlin, London, Amsterdam, San Francisco, New York) with infrastructure and integrations.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience at a high-growth startup or scaleup (50-500 employees)
- Experience in roles at the intersection of IT, Security and Engineering, like IT Engineer, IT Systems Engineering, TechOps, or Security Engineer
- Coding fundamentals: comfortable writing and reading scripts (Shell, JavaScript, Ruby)
- Experience with:
- MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji, or similar) in a macOS-first environment
- Identity providers (Okta, Google Workspace) and HRIS integrations
- Workflow and AI platforms (Zapier, Tines, Claude, Notion AI, or similar)
- Cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
- Systems thinking with the ability to design end-to-end workflows, not just individual scripts
- Strong communication skills and a user-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
