Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, resourceful, and hands-on Sustainability Manager to join our team at forward earth. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the development and scaling of our carbon accounting SaaS-solutions. The ideal candidate is a sustainability expert with practical experience in carbon accounting as well as a great communicator who is comfortable working on challenging problems.
Core Objectives:
- Help define and develop the methodology for our Product Carbon Footprint Solution.
- Support our customers and internal stakeholders with your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help shape our products and product strategy based on your methodology expertise
- Translate industry standards, guidelines, and client needs into project requirements and documentation.
- Identify, evaluate, and curate key data sources such as emission factors to enhance our environmental impact assessments.
- Provide expert guidance on methodologies and engage as a thought leader with team members.
- Monitor and anticipate trends in sustainability to proactively inform and strategize with the team.
- Conduct in-depth research on regulatory landscapes, market trends, and best practices to keep us ahead of the curve.
- Collaborate with our customer success team to tackle complex inquiries and elevate client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum three years in carbon accounting, with a strong focus on Product Carbon Footprints. You should have a solid theoretical understanding and know how to apply relevant concepts in a practical setting. Life Cycle Assessment expertise is desirable. Apply your knowledge of standards and guidelines to navigate EU and US regulatory frameworks as well as voluntary initiatives effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adapt your communication style to diverse teams and client expertise levels, ensuring clarity and precision in interactions.
- Ownership: Independently manage and prioritize your projects. Embrace complex challenges where standard solutions may not yet exist, demonstrating initiative and innovation in developing new approaches.
- Diligence and Eagerness to Learn: Demonstrate thoroughness and a proactive learning attitude in a dynamic, resource-limited startup. Conduct critical research and develop trusted solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid environment, adjusting quickly to shifting priorities. Be ready to handle diverse tasks in a vibrant startup atmosphere.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is advantageous for dealing with German clients and documentation
