Flow48 is a VC-backed fintech startup for B2B lending. Building a seamless, automated, and integrated ecosystem to serve as a platform for SME Working Capital financing under a Revenue Based Finance (RBF) and Invoice Based Finance (IBF) models. We bring a solution to the information asymmetry problem, overcoming traditional lenders’ challenges by building a financing layer for SMEs based on data triangulation and dynamic risk engines.
Position Overview:
The Risk Operations Manager plays a critical role in establishing and optimizing operations within our Risk function, including co-ordination with our Finance and Business Development functions, and the operational management of third-party Service Providers to our Risk function. This role is responsible for enhancing process efficiency, developing, improving, maintaining workflows, and overseeing training and onboarding for new analysts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fintech, alternative lending, or financial services with expertise in risk operations, process automation, and data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
• Identify, propose, and implement workflow process enhancements, ensuring streamlined and effectual workflows across our Risk function, specifically as it relates to Underwriting, Disbursements and Collections.
• Identify, propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in Underwriting,
Disbursements and Collections:
• Work closely with tech, product and finance teams to identify, propose and implement automations and system integrations that improve operational efficiency across our Risk functions .
• Track KPIs and SLAs to ensure operational effectiveness and alignment with corporate KPIs.
• Review Loan Agreements and Advance Requests ensuring compliance with approved credit terms and supporting documentation.
Partnership Process Efficiency & Vendor Management:
• Establish relationships with service providers to our Risk function to ensure effectual Risk Operations.
• Coordinate operationally with referral partners to follow up on referred applications once received and ensure timely progression through the credit funnel.
LMS & Salesforce Enhancements and Efficiency:
• Identify and propose Salesforce workflows improvements, to optimize Risk Operations, borrower management, and deal tracking.
• Identify and propose LMS (Loan Management System) improvements, ensuring structured training and knowledge-sharing across Risk Operations.
• Identify and propose automation of manual tasks that improve/enhance the user experience within Salesforce and LMS.
Training & Development Policies & Procedures:
• Develop and implement training policies and procedures across Risk Operations.
• Oversee onboarding of new hires across our Risk function, ensuring that new hires receive structured training on underwriting, disbursements, collections, and company policies.
• Collaborate with our HR team to establish a continuous learning framework to keep risk teams updated on policy changes, system enhancements, and market trends.
• In collaboration with our HR team, conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and improve operational effectiveness.
Cross-Department Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with our finance, compliance, capital markets, sales teams, product and tech teams to ensure smooth Risk Operations.
• Align operational risk strategies with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and propose interdepartmental communication and reporting enhancements to improve transparency and decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in risk operations, lending, fintech, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, operational risk, and process optimization.
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Amazon QuickSight), CRM (e.g. Salesforce), and Loan Management System (LMS) platforms.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partnerships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Desired Attributes:
