About the role

At Flinn, we’re redefining how medical device manufacturers create safer and better products 10x more efficiently. To shape the development of our existing and new products and to extend and scale our technical platform, we are looking for a product-minded Fullstack Engineer with a strong AI focus. You will be building AI native products that increase the safety of medical devices and will be playing a key role in growing our tech team further.

Your contributions to our journey:

  • Own a piece of our product end-to-end - either building a new module 0→1 with real autonomy over technical design, and strengthening an existing team already shipping in production.
  • Work hands-on across the full stack: frontend (React), backend (Node.js), and the relational/non-relational databases underneath.
  • Partner directly with product - understand why a feature matters to a customer, not just what to build; help turn customer feedback into roadmap decisions.
  • Use AI tooling as part of your day-to-day build process, and in some cases help us ship AI-powered features into the product itself.
  • Help shape our architecture, engineering standards, and hiring as we grow the team.
  • We are not just looking for someone to complete Jira tickets, but rather to be actively involved in decision making (product & tech) and take ownership and initiative.

What you need to be successful:

  • Must-have:
  • Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining complex, production web applications as a senior engineer.
  • Hands-on experience building with AI tooling, or building AI-powered product features.
  • Solid backend experience (preferably Node.js) and frontend experience (preferably React).
  • Solid understanding of both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience working closely with product in a cross-functional, product-led environment.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building infrastructure and processes as you go.
  • Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in a founding engineer or 0→1 building context.
  • Background as an engineering manager who's chosen to move back into hands-on building - a profile that's worked well for us before.
  • Attributes we are looking for:

  • You have a positive, problem-solving mindset and a clear bias for action - you bring your own ideas and solutions proactively.
  • You speak up. We're hybrid, so if you have an opinion, a concern, or a better idea, we need you to say so.
  • You have a passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced engineers, and you lead by example.
  • You're a good communicator with both technical and non-technical people, and you give and receive direct, open feedback well.
  • You're pragmatic and adaptable, comfortable reacting to new findings in a dynamic, still-maturing environment.
  • You care about the product and the problem it solves - you see technology as a tool, not an end in itself.
  • 🇪🇺 At this stage of our company, we can only accept applications from people who are based in Europe with either European citizenship, an active working visa or being self-employed and joining us as a full-time contractor.

We strive to remove barriers, eliminate discrimination, and ensure equal opportunity through our transparent recruitment process. We are open to all groups of people without regard to age, color, national origin, race, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status or any other legally protected characteristic.
