What would you do

At FERNRIDE, the HMI team designs, develops, and tests intuitive interfaces that bridge the gap between teleoperators and automated vehicles. This includes collaborating with engineering teams, implementing the latest technology, and constantly refining our designs based on user feedback.
As a member of the HMI team, you put features into code. You mainly work on C++ detailed software design and implementation, but you also contribute to architecture decisions or support our systems and safety engineers with valuable feedback. You have a certain urge to find the best possible solution and to create elegant C++ code that is clean, maintainable, testable, effective & efficient. You leverage code reviews and mentoring to help all our programmers to improve their skills. You help to set standards and you have a strong drive to reduce complexity in the code. Your experience allows you to devise and drive process improvement initiatives or product improvement through profiling and optimizing existing code.

Leave your footprint by:

  • Developing software in modern C++.
  • Implementing HMI specific software: Graphical Interfaces, Input Devices, Audio, Force Feedback.
  • Participating in code reviews and mentoring across teams.
  • User testing and iteration on the user experience.
  • Promoting your work, blogging it and representing FERNRIDE at events/conferences.

What you will bring to the team?

  • Outstanding programming skill and substantial experience in modern C++.
  • Significant experience with computer graphics and graphical user interfaces.
  • Experience in programming applications for the Linux operating system.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of geometry and linear algebra.
  • Experience with openGL, abseil, gsl, Dear ImGui, googletest and/or other common general support libraries and frameworks.
  • Technical leadership.
  • Familiarity with Bazel.

Sounds interesting and relevant but you aren’t convinced you can check all of the boxes? Please apply! We offer great learning opportunities, and you will work among some exceptionally bright people. If you meet us halfway and show great potential, then Fernride is for you.
