FairMoney is a pioneering mobile banking institution specializing in extending credit to emerging markets. Established in 2017, the company currently operates primarily within Nigeria, and it has secured nearly €50 million in funding from renowned global investors, including Tiger Global, DST, and Flourish Ventures. FairMoney maintains a strong international presence, with offices in several countries, including France, Nigeria, Germany, Latvia, the UK, Türkiye, and India.
In alignment with its vision, FairMoney is actively constructing the foremost mobile banking platform and point-of-sale (POS) solution tailored for emerging markets. The journey began with the introduction of a digital microcredit application exclusively available on Android and iOS devices. Today, FairMoney has significantly expanded its range of services, encompassing a comprehensive suite of financial products, such as current accounts, savings accounts, debit cards, and state-of-the-art POS solutions designed to meet the needs of both merchants and agents.
We are embarking on an exciting journey to expand our business by launching a remittance business. Our mission is to make cross-border money transfers easier, more efficient, and more accessible, particularly for the Nigerian and African diaspora residing in the UK, US, and Canada. We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to join our team as the Vice President/Director of Remittance and drive the growth and success of this new venture.
As the Vice President/Director of Remittance, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our remittance business. Your primary focus will be on building and leading a dedicated cross-functional team of business leaders to achieve this vision. We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, a background in starting and scaling businesses, deep knowledge of the remittance industry, cross-functional expertise, P&L management, and a preference for experience in B2C African remittance.

- 15+ years of experience in leadership roles, with a proven track record of starting and scaling businesses, particularly in the remittance industry.
- Background in both B2B and B2C remittance services, with a strong preference for B2C.
- Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performance teams of 200+ employees
- Product expertise with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to nurture and enhance remittance platforms.
- Prior experience in roles such as Chief Business Officer, Business Head, or CEO with a narrow focus on business, P&L, and a product background is highly desirable.
- Business Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy for our remittance division, with a strong emphasis on growth and expansion. Leverage your expertise to identify opportunities and challenges in the African market, open corridors and create a tailored approach for our target audience
- P&L Ownership: Own P&L for the remittance business, work very closely with finance to help set up the remittance treasury function
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing executive team to execute your vision. This includes identifying and nurturing talent capable of scaling our remittance business, both in terms of team size and geographic reach.
- Market Expansion and Partnership Management: Focus on expanding our presence in the African market. Use your extensive knowledge of the region to drive market penetration and establish strong partnerships to facilitate remittance services.
- Product Development: Collaborate closely with our tech teams to develop and enhance our remittance platform. Your product background will be invaluable in creating a seamless, user-friendly experience for both B2B and B2C customers
- Customer Acquisition: Help build customer acquisition infrastructure in developed markets
- Compliance and licensing: Ensure the company is compliant with local rules and regulations
- Leadership: As a senior executive, you will be a key decision-maker and play a critical role in shaping the company's future. Your experience as a business leader with a product background will guide our remittance division toward success.
