About Donnerstag.ai:

Donnerstag.ai is the solution partner for AI Reconciliation. Finance runs on numbers you can trust, yet most teams still chase discrepancies by hand or force their data into rigid tools. We do it the other way around and adapt to the customer. Our AI connects natively to any system a finance team runs, reads their data, and builds the reconciliation logic around their workflows and roles. Our experts review, the customer's team approves, and a deterministic engine takes over, reconciling every transaction at line item level in real time, fully traceable and fully auditable. Customers go live in 4 to 6 weeks, with faster closes, recovered revenue, and real time visibility into risk and cash. Reconciliation is the foundation finance is built on, and it is what we master.

Joining now means shaping how a growing B2B finance technology brand looks and feels from the ground up.

Why this role:

This is our first dedicated design hire and a high-ownership role. You will own how Donnerstag looks and feels end to end: the website, the brand system, and every piece of collateral that goes out the door. You will not be one designer among many — you will be the designer, setting the visual standard for the company.

What you will own:

  • Corporate identity. Steward and evolve our CI — colours, typography, logo usage, layout system, recurring components. Keep every asset on-brand and consistent.
  • Website. Own our existing Framer site end to end: new landing pages, use-case and industry pages, ongoing visual updates, on-page animations and interactions, and conversion-minded layout. This is hands-on build directly in Framer, not just handoff.
  • Sales & marketing collateral. Whitepapers, brochures, one-pagers, pitch and sales decks — designed to enterprise standard from our written content.
  • Social & content visuals. LinkedIn post graphics, carousels, and templates that scale.
  • Video. Edit and produce short-form video and motion (product clips, social, explainers) — or direct it where heavier production is needed.
  • Design operations. Build reusable templates and a component library so the team can produce on-brand assets without you in the loop for every request.

You're a strong fit if you have

  • 3+ years designing for B2B SaaS or a similarly content-heavy brand — ideally fintech, enterprise software, or another credibility-driven category.
  • A portfolio that proves range: a real website you designed and built, plus polished long-form collateral (a whitepaper or sales deck), plus social/video work.
  • Hands-on fluency with Framer — building and maintaining live pages and creating on-site animations and interactions (we already run our site on Framer). Comfortable with basic HTML/CSS concepts even if you're not an engineer.
  • Solid Figma skills for graphics, simple UI design, and asset creation.
  • Solid video editing chops (e.g. Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, or DaVinci) for short-form content.
  • Strong typographic and layout discipline — you make dense, technical content feel clear and premium.
  • The instinct to work from a brand system and extend it consistently, not reinvent it each time.
  • Comfort operating solo and self-directed in an early-stage environment: you take a brief and a messaging doc and ship.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with finance, accounting, or reconciliation workflows (or eagerness to learn the domain).
  • Working proficiency in English and German — our assets ship in both, and visual/copy fit matters in each.
  • Light motion design, illustration, or basic front-end (CMS theming) skills.
  • Experience setting up a design system or component library from scratch.

Tool Stack

You'll work with a modern design and web stack, and we expect you to use AI tools to move faster without losing our look. You don't need every tool below on day one, but you should be fluent in most and eager to adopt the rest.

  • Website: Framer (our site already runs on it) — building and maintaining pages plus on-site animations and interactions. Comfort with basic HTML/CSS concepts is a plus.
  • Design & brand: Figma for graphics, simple UI design, and assets; Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign for long-form collateral like whitepapers).
  • Video & motion: Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut for short-form and social.
  • AI-driven tools: image and asset generation (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, DALL·E / GPT image), AI video and motion (Runway, Pika, or similar), AI editing and repurposing (Descript), and LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude) for ideation, copy support, and speeding up production. We want someone who treats AI as a force multiplier and knows where it helps and where craft still wins.
  • Collaboration & ops: comfortable in a fast, async setup; bonus for experience with analytics/A-B testing tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Hotjar, or your web builder's native testing).

We're not dogmatic about the exact tools. If you're stronger in an equivalent stack, show us.

How we work with you

You won't be writing every word — we have a locked messaging framework and content support, so you can focus on visual execution and build. You'll partner closely with Marketing, Sales and Founders on priorities, and have real latitude over the visual direction. We move fast and ship often.

What success looks like

  • Our website is yours: pages ship quickly, the design system is documented, and updates no longer bottleneck on external help.
  • Every outbound asset — whitepaper, deck, one-pager, LinkedIn post — is unmistakably Donnerstag and enterprise-credible.
  • The team can self-serve on-brand templates for routine needs.
