Munich, Germany
About the Role
In this role, you own and develop the electrical design backbone of our platform. You ensure that our systems are designed consistently, robustly, and in line with applicable standards.
A key part of your responsibility is building and maintaining our EPLAN environment, including data structures, libraries, and engineering guidelines. You act as the central authority for electrical design within the platform team.
Our Engineering Principles
- We aim for operational excellence and strive to deliver solutions that work “first time right”.
- We set a high bar and make transparent, engineering-driven decisions on quality, cost, and trade-offs.
- We grow as a team by sharing knowledge, challenging each other, and continuously improving our ways of working.
Your Responsabilities
- You create and maintain electrical schematics, terminal diagrams, and documentation using EPLAN P8, including wiring and harness-related aspects.
- You own and continuously improve our EPLAN environment, including: article databases, macro libraries, templates and drawing standards.
- You define requirements and drive component selection together with the Platform R&D team, using structured technical decision matrices and clear engineering criteria.
- You ensure proper dimensioning and qualification of electrical components based on technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- You ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. EN 60204-1, EMC basics, and applicable internal or military standards).
- You define, document, and enforce electrical engineering guidelines and best practices.
- You mentor and support the engineering team in all topics related to EPLAN, system structure, and electrical design workflows.
- You review and validate electrical designs for quality, consistency, and robustness.
- You ensure alignment between electrical design data (EPLAN) and higher-level system and BOM structures.
Your Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or technician/master with relevant experience
- Several years of experience in electrical design for machines or complex systems
- Strong hands-on experience with EPLAN P8 (ideally including administration and data management)
- Experience with component selection, dimensioning, and electrical system design
- Good understanding of electrical communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet) and their proper integration into system design
- Experience working with relevant standards (e.g. EN 60204-1, ISO 13849-1 or similar)
- Ideally, experience with mobile or ruggedized systems designed for harsh environments (shock, vibration, dust, water ingress)
- You understand the end-to-end flow from schematic design (EPLAN P8) to harness definition and physical integration
- Familiar with PLM systems and BOM data structures (e.g. Teamcenter, ARAS or similar), including their interaction with electrical design tools
- Ideally, you combine schematic design (EPLAN P8) with hands-on experience in harness design tools such as EPLAN Harness ProD / Cable ProD
- Structured and independent way of working with a high sense of ownership
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
Benefits and Perks
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- A shaping role in an emerging dual use company
- Opportunity to work with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team
- Room for professional growth and development
