About the role

We are seeking a Systems Owner to lead end-to-end system definition and architectural integrity across advanced defence capabilities in the era of land of autonomy warfare. This is an accountable systems ownership role with full lifecycle responsibility across robotics systems. You will translate business development strategy, operational intent, and product roadmaps into coherent, traceable, and technically robust system baselines. You will ensure the complete V-Model is structurally followed, from stakeholder need and system architecture definition through integration, verification, validation, and operational feedback. This role operates at the intersection of product strategy, engineering delivery (HW and SW), and operational capability.

To join our team, you should be excited to

  • Translate operational capability ambitions into rigorous system architectures with KPIs and targets definition
  • Architect resilient, networked defence systems within Operational Design Domains
  • Work across ISR, Recce-Strike, counter-UAS, autonomy, and distributed battlefield systems
  • Ensure the systems layer of the V-cycle is complete, coherent, and defensible
  • Define and manage interfaces across sensors, decisions, effectors and network elements.
  • Resolve architectural tensions across hardware, software, and communications
  • Shape system design decisions early to reduce downstream integration risk
  • Participate in demos and exercises to incorporate real-world constraints
  • Contribute to digital engineering and model-based systems practices
  • Establish best-in-class end to end systems ownership in a rapidly evolving defence landscape
  • Own system definition across the full lifecycle
  • Decompose operational concepts and product intent into structured, verifiable and clear system requirements
  • Define and control functional, logical, and physical system architectures
  • Maintain bidirectional traceability from stakeholder need to verification evidence
  • Govern interfaces, dependencies, and integration risks across subsystems
  • Integrate hardware, software, communications, networks, safety, and quality into a coherent system view
  • Support field activities and trials to ensure engineering decisions reflect operational reality

Your Profile

  • Deep understanding of the V-Model lifecycle and end-to-end systems engineering practice
  • Strong capability in stakeholder requirement decomposition, system specification, and formalisation from strategic and operational inputs
  • Mastery of requirement quality, traceability, and configuration control
  • Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, Polarion, Systems Weaver; Jama a plus)
  • Experience in systems of systems, mission threads, and use cases
  • Proven ownership of functional, logical, and physical system architectures
  • Strong understanding of network architectures, communications protocols, data flows, and latency constraints
  • Management of subsystem dependencies and integration sequencing across hardware and software domains
  • Experience with distributed and autonomy-enabled systems
  • Working knowledge of functional safety, cyber security, warfare tenders, and battlefields management systems integration
  • Structured approach to Verification & Validation aligned to requirement baselines
  • Systems-level quality and checklist readiness governance
  • Structurally rigorous, technically decisive, and analytically strong
