The Role
As Senior Engineering Manager, Verification & Validation, you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of verification and validation (V&V) across our teleoperated and autonomous robotic systems. You will be responsible for building and guiding a multidisciplinary team that ensures our systems meet the highest standards of reliability, safety, and performance.
This role sits at the intersection of software, systems engineering, and testing, combining hands-on technical leadership with people and organizational leadership. You will play a key role in bringing complex, safety-critical systems from development to real-world deployment in demanding environments.

As Senior Engineering Manager, Verification & Validation, you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of verification and validation (V&V) across our teleoperated and autonomous robotic systems. You will play a key role in bringing complex, safety-critical systems from development to real-world deployment in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Organization
- Lead, grow, and develop the multidisciplinary V&V team with software and systems test engineers
- Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development of team members
- Define team structure, priorities, and capacity planning aligned with company goals
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Define and execute comprehensive V&V strategies across the full system lifecycle
- Own system-level and software validation campaigns, including integration, regression, and acceptance testing
- Ensure full requirements traceability from system requirements to test cases and results
- Support release decisions with clear validation metrics and risk assessments
- Develop the partnership with testing teams owning hardware and component testing
- Own and evolve Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test platforms and automated test frameworks
- Establish scalable test automation to enable fast and reliable feedback loops (CI/CD integration)
- Lead and operationalize proving ground and field-testing activities
- Ensure high-quality test documentation, reporting, and non-conformance analysis
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams on test readiness, issue triage, and integration
- Provide technical input to system safety analyses, risk assessments, and certification efforts
- Act as a key interface to external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, partners) on validation progress and compliance
- Experience leading engineering teams in robotics, automotive, defense, or similar.
- Strong background in system-level V&V / testing of complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with HiL, simulation OR system testing.
- Familiar with C++ (ROS is a plus).
- Familiarity with CI/CD and test automation.
- Knowledge of safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C).
- Fluent in English; German language skills are beneficial.
