Why we need you

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. As the first DevOps on the ground in the US, you will face timezone challenges but will be pivotal in quickly onboarding and understanding our entire process. Your initial responsibility will be focused on operationalizing our development and production environments, understanding the ecosystem and development cycle, and collaborating with security to integrate security into the pipelines. You will be responsible for optimizing, tuning, and maintaining these environments, as well as building out new services and monitoring their performance. Additionally, you will work autonomously to ensure the usability and reliability of our systems, keeping the lights on for our customers.

In addition, you will be tasked with the following:

  • Design and build reliable, distributed, and scalable production systems
  • Advocate automation by removing operation load with software
  • Build and support infrastructure needed for backup or load balancing, in such a way that they can be reused across systems
  • Figure out how to apply existing solutions to new problems
  • Find ways to improve design and operations of existing systems, to make them more scalable, more reliable, and more efficient, but only up to a point where they are reliable enough.
  • Focus on operating all-things services built atop our distributed computing systems, from internal infrastructure, to external services, to our developer community products

What you will need to succeed

  • 5+ years as a DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent technical degree, or relevant practical experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Docker, Kubernetes (including service mesh / istio), Terraform
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Cloud Services and Discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling and load balancing. GCP is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of grpc and languages such as GO, and/or JavaScript
  • Knowledge of standard methodologies related to security, performance, and disaster recovery
  • Highly skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, identifying anomalous system behaviour, and resolving root cause of service issues
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively work across teams and functions to influence design, operations, and deployment of highly available software

Why you should choose us

  • Authentic: Join a fun, ambitious, and talented team with deep market experience and credentials in scaling software co’s from 0-100m$ ARR revenues
  • Impact: Own your future – participate in the success of developing a deep-tech gamechanger.
  • Inclusivity: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
  • Opportunity: Be part of shaping the new era in digital identity, for large enterprises & government.
  • Rewarding: We provide competitive salary & equity benefits, flexible work from anywhere policy, 25 days paid vacation and other things, some of which are down to your unique needs.‍
  • Experience: expect some travel, expect some weirdness, expect some fun, expect it all. We don’t set limits, and neither should you ☺

We’re a bunch of unique, normal and somewhat eccentric people (just the average amount), looking for some more team members. “No one is you, and that is your power,” we’re looking for people who bring their best, see the best in others and like to make things better.

If there's one thing we’re good at, it's gathering people together to do something fun. Launching a new band, or a technology start-up shooting for the stars, is all about having the best people – get that right, cool things will happen.

Our 5 step business plan is simple:

  1. Love your customer
  2. Build Trust
  3. Stay focussed
  4. Have fun
  5. Kick ass
